WHO WE ARE
WHY BUFFALO CREEK CONSULTING?
Buffalo Creek runs through my front yard. I have been to its headwaters and I know where it combines with Prickly Pear Creek and eventually dumps into the Missouri River. The course of the creek has, much like organizations do, rapids where the waters are tumultuous and froth with energy, rapid shifts and commotion. There are eddies where the water swirls, catching floating bits and causing them to expend tremendous effort to escape – if they even can. And then, there is the steady flow sometimes more quickly, sometimes slowly but always with a forward motion that is soothing yet moving, contributing to the larger plan. For me this is the perfect metaphor for more than 30 years of working with organizations, large and small, private, public, and not-for-profit. There are times of change, flurry, and turmoil, times when there is a lot of activity without any result, and times when the organization hits its stride and flow.
